Drystone Dykes
Drystone dykes, a traditional feature of the countryside, are not only attractive but provide valuable shelter for stock and a habitat for wildlife. Repairing farm dykes was the core of our business for many years. We can source stone for dykes or are happy to use your own stone if it is suitable.
The addition of iron standards and wire on the top of a dyke is an attractive way of making it stock proof.
Mortar Walls
In some settings it is not appropriate to build dry stone dykes, in particular where there may be a high public usage or risk of vandalism. We can build mortar walls in all kinds of stone and can adapt the finish to suit your requirements.
The use of retaining walls can provide a much more aesthetically pleasing solution than gabion baskets.
